The Enthusiast
Chases the next experience with contagious joy - and learns to stay when it gets hard.
Core Desire
To be happy, satisfied, and free.
Core Fear
Being trapped in pain or deprivation.
Type 7 is a possibility machine: their mind is planning the next adventure while the current one is still happening. They bring energy, humor, and bright vision everywhere - and are gifted escape artists when pain or boredom appear. At their best, they discover depth does not steal freedom but gives it meaning, and that full presence in one moment beats ten plans.

In Growth
Adopts the healthy qualities of Type 5 - The Investigator
Moving toward growth, the 7 reaches for a healthy 5: they slow down, stay with one thing and go deep instead of skimming the surface. They discover that real satisfaction lies in devotion, and that quiet and solitude hold richness too.
Under Stress
Slides toward the less healthy side of Type 1 - The Reformer
Under stress, the 7 slides toward an unhealthy 1: turning critical, impatient and rigid, and blaming others for holding them back. The lightness gives way to a sharp, judgemental tone, and every detail that does not go to plan irritates them.
Wings
The 6 wing makes the 7 warmer, funnier and more loyal: they love experiences shared with people they are attached to. There is more anxiety beneath the lightness, and they look for safety in the group.
The 8 wing makes the 7 more determined, direct and demanding: they do not just dream of experiences, they make sure to get them. There is entrepreneurial, commercial force here, and less patience with people who slow them down.
Levels of Health
At their healthiest, the 7 is full of joy, gratitude and curiosity, able to truly enjoy what is here and now. They bring grounded optimism and can stay present through hard moments too.
At an average level, they stay constantly busy, plan the next thing and dodge pain through distraction. They start much and finish little, and struggle to commit when something else looks more promising.
When unhealthy, the 7 turns impulsive and hooked on stimulation, whether shopping, parties, substances or thrills, anything not to feel. They can become reckless and irresponsible, running from every commitment.
The Three Instinctual Subtypes
Each type comes in three versions, depending on the dominant instinct: self-preservation, social or one-to-one.
The self-preservation 7 builds a network of friends, opportunities and resources, always knowing where the good deal is. Practical, pleasure-loving and pragmatic, they make sure they never go without.
The social 7 gives up some pleasures to contribute to the group and to appear good and idealistic. Often mistaken for a 2, they like feeling they are doing something important for the world.
The one-to-one 7 falls in love with ideas, people and possibilities, seeing the world through rose-tinted glasses. Dreamy, enthusiastic and charming, they chase the experience that will beat reality.
In Relationships
In relationships the 7 brings adventure, laughter and plans; life with them is never dull. Trouble comes in heavy moments, when they tend to change the subject or head off to the next experience instead of sitting with the pain. It helps them to stay in the hard conversation a few minutes longer, and it helps a partner to offer freedom within commitment rather than as its price.
At Work
At work the 7 is the idea engine: thinking fast, connecting fields and infecting everyone with enthusiasm. They thrive in entrepreneurship, product development, media, travel and any varied role with freedom of movement. Routine, paperwork and tracking details tire them, so a partner who ties up loose ends or a simple tracking system complements them well.
Growth Tip
When the urge to bolt toward something new arises, delay it by five minutes and stay with what is. Behind the boredom often waits exactly the depth you were chasing elsewhere.
