The Gate of the Role of the Self
Leadership and the role of the self in directing others
About Gate 7
Gate 7 carries the energy of democratic leadership - the ability to lead by example and to hold a role that influences the direction of others. This is not authoritarian leadership but leadership through the expression of one's authentic role. When recognized and invited, you can guide others toward their direction. It connects to Gate 31 to form the Channel of the Alpha.
Center
Every gate belongs to one center. When the gate is active, it gives its own colour to how that center works in the chart.
Channel it forms
A gate on its own is a leaning that looks for its other half. When the partner gate is also active - in the same chart or in someone close - the channel closes and the energy becomes consistently available.
The Six Lines
Every gate divides into six lines, and the number after the dot (e.g. 7.3) shows which line is active. The line doesn't change the gate's theme - it changes how it is lived:
Investigator - Needs a solid foundation: investigates until it feels secure.
Hermit - A natural gift that shows itself when left alone, and waits to be called out.
Martyr - Learns through trial and error; what fails is part of the discovery.
Opportunist - Everything moves through close relationships: friendship, network and stability.
Heretic - Others project expectations of a solution here; the test is delivering something practical.
Role Model - A view from above: experience that ripens over the years into wisdom others look to.
