About Aquarius
Aquarius is the sign of the future and the group. Aquarius ask why things are done this way, and won't accept 'it's always been like that' as an answer. Uranus and Saturn, their rulers, give them a rare mix of groundbreaking ideas and the ability to implement them systematically. They're very sociable and connect with people of every kind, but guard their personal space and dislike being expected to be like everyone else. They care about justice and society as a whole, and sometimes find it easier to talk about humanity than about their own feelings.
Love & Relationships
Aquarius fall in love with the mind first: a person's thoughts, opinions and uniqueness. They need to be friends before partners, and the connection often starts with a long conversation about an idea. In a relationship they're loyal, but demand freedom and personal space, and can't stand jealousy or attempts to change them. Deep emotions scare them a little, and they tend to retreat into analysis when things get intense. They need a partner who accepts their quirks and knows they'll come back.
Friendship
Friendship may be where Aquarius shine most. They have friends of every kind - older and younger, from every background and profession - and treat them all with the same openness. They're the first to join a community initiative or a group of people with a rare hobby. The difficulty is that they can be warm to a group and distant to one person, and disappear when a friend needs emotional closeness.
Work & Money
At work, Aquarius are the innovators: they ask why things are done this way and propose something completely different. Fields like technology, science, research, social activism, non-profits, astrology and entrepreneurship suit them. They work well in a team of equals and less well under rigid hierarchy or a micromanaging boss. With money they're not especially materialistic, prefer investing in technology, experiments or a social cause, and need a simple system so they don't forget their own financial future.

What drives Aquarius
Element
AirAquarius air is the air of ideas that change society. In Gemini air gathers information and in Libra it connects two people, but in Aquarius it thinks about the whole group. So Aquarius get excited about principles, justice and the future, and sometimes find it easier to love humanity than one particular person.
Modality
FixedAs the fixed sign in midwinter, Aquarius holds its principles firmly. That may surprise, since it's linked with change, but Aquarius are very stubborn about their ideas. They can be revolutionaries and still refuse to change their minds, so it's worth checking now and then whether their innovation has hardened into dogma.
Ruling Planet
UranusUranus, Aquarius' modern ruler, is the planet of surprise, rebellion and innovation, and Saturn, its traditional ruler, adds structure and discipline. Together they explain Aquarius' odd combination: wild ideas implemented systematically. They're drawn to technology and the future, and wake up to change while others are still deliberating.
The Three Decans
Each sign splits into three 10-degree decans, each with a sub-ruler that tints Aquarius in its own shade. The exact degree of your Sun appears in the birth chart.
Classic Aquarius: independent, original and rebellious, with a vision for the future. There's genius here that's sometimes ahead of its time, along with difficulty fitting into rules.
Mercury adds curiosity, wit and a talent for communication. People in this decan love discussing ideas, writing and teaching, and tend to analyse feelings rather than feel them.
Venus softens Aquarius, adding warmth, grace and an interest in art and relationships. There's more romance here than in the other decans, and a wish to combine freedom with real closeness.
Moon in Aquarius
A Moon in Aquarius processes feelings through thought: understanding comes first, feeling only after. There's a strong need for personal space and emotional freedom, and sometimes a sense of being different or standing slightly outside the group. Once people who accept that uniqueness are found, the loyalty here is deep and steady.
Aquarius Rising
Aquarius rising gives a distinctive, unpredictable look: a personal style, an unusual haircut or something small that breaks the rules. People with Aquarius rising come across as friendly but slightly detached, comfortable with anyone without clinging to anyone. They surprise with their opinions and decisions.

Shadow Side
Aquarius' shadow is detachment. When it takes over they turn cold and superior, argue about principles while ignoring the people in front of them. The need to be different can turn into rebellion for its own sake, and fear of dependence makes them pull away exactly when someone gets close. They can be so sure they're right that they stop seeing.
Growth Path
Aquarius grows through Leo, its opposite: learning to open the heart, express personal warmth and enjoy the moment without analysing it. A useful practice is telling someone close one sentence of feeling without an explanation, and sometimes choosing simple fun over an important idea.

Compatibility
Best Match
Gemini and Aquarius enjoy endless conversations, strange ideas and freedom together. Neither smothers the other, and both stay curious for years.
Libra brings Aquarius warmth, aesthetics and connection, and Aquarius brings Libra independence and fresh ideas. Both love justice, culture and people.
Good Match
Challenging Match
Taurus wants stability and routine, Aquarius wants change and novelty. Both are fixed and stubborn, so arguments drag on. When they respect the difference, Taurus grounds Aquarius' ideas and Aquarius refreshes Taurus' world.
Scorpio wants emotional depth and exclusivity, Aquarius wants space and a wide circle. Scorpio may feel Aquarius is cold, Aquarius that Scorpio is smothering. It's an intense pair that can teach both a great deal.
Sun-sign compatibility is only a starting point - both people's Moon, Venus and Rising change the picture.
